  • 1. The Nature of Vintage Goods

By purchasing from Roof + Roost, you acknowledge that all items are vintage, antique, or pre-owned. Due to their age and previous history, these items will rarely be in "brand new" or "mint" condition. They often carry signs of wear, such as light scratches, fading, or minor imperfections, which contribute to the character and authenticity of the piece.

    2. Accuracy of Descriptions

We take great care to inspect every item and provide an honest assessment of its condition. Please read these descriptions thoroughly before purchasing.

    • Flaws: Any significant damage, structural issues, or notable wear will be explicitly mentioned in the product description. However, small, age-appropriate imperfections may not always be listed individually.

    3. Photography and Color Representation

We strive to represent our products as accurately as possible through high-resolution photography.

    • Lighting: We shoot in [natural light/studio light] to show the item clearly. Please be aware that colors can vary slightly depending on the screen settings of your device (phone, laptop, or tablet).

    • Detailing: We aim to photograph any specific "character marks" or flaws so you can make an informed decision. The photos form a primary part of the item description.

    4. Sizing and Measurements

We provide actual measurements in [centimeters] for every item.

    5. Electronics and Functional Items

Unless stated otherwise, vintage mechanical or electronic items are sold as decorative or collector's pieces. While we may test for basic functionality, we cannot guarantee the longevity or performance of internal components that are decades old.

  • We pride ourselves on only selling genuine antique and vintage pieces. We do not sell modern wares or reproductions.

  • All our items are firstly, very gently washed if suitable, in environmentally friendly products, or carefully wiped over as a minimum if this is not appropriate.

On occasion cleaning may not be suitable, so dust or ingrained debris may remain. Any such condition will be noted in the listing description.

We always sell our metalware in 'as sourced' condition and never use modern polish or abrasive cleaners, as an original patina, is often preferred and impossible to replicate once cleaned.

All items are carefully packed by a spotlessly clean hand, in a pet and smoke free environment.

  • "The Roost" is our inner circle of vintage lovers. Because most of our items are one-of-a-kind, they often find new homes very quickly. By joining “The Roost” (our newsletter), you get a head start with early-access links to our "Monthly Drops" before they are shared on our site. It’s the best way to ensure you never miss out on a piece you’ve fallen in love with.

  • "At Roof + Roost, we are constantly exploring the English countryside for unique, soulful pieces. If a particular item in our sold archive caught your eye, or if you are looking for a specific style of studio pottery, rustic wood, or antique curiosity to finish a room, we would love to help.
