Vintage 1930s Hammered Sheffield Pewter Milk Jug | Frank Cobb and Co Arts & Crafts Style

£22.00

The Story:
This handsome vintage pewter milk or 'creamer' jug is a wonderful example of interwar British metalwork. Featuring a beautifully planished (hammered) texture and a decorative studded band, it perfectly captures the rugged, "Tudor Revival" aesthetic that was so popular in the 1920s and 30s.

Sourced from a local estate here in Staffordshire, this piece was crafted by the well-regarded silversmiths Frank Cobb & Co. of Sheffield. It carries a lovely aged patina that adds a sense of history and "slow living" to any kitchen or dining table. Whether used as a functional cream jug or styled as a rustic bud vase on a mantle, it brings a tactile, soulful touch to any interior.

The Details:
• Maker: Frank Cobb & Co. of Sheffield.
• Era: Circa 1926-1939
• Design: Features a hand-beaten, dimpled finish designed to catch the light beautifully.
• Makers marks: Stamped "Period Pewter" mark and the "CF" monogram for Frank Cobb & Co.
• Dimensions: Approximately 7cm tallest point of handle x 11 cm wide at widest point
• Condition: In lovely vintage condition, showing an honest, age-related patina and the light surface wear you would expect from a piece nearly a century old. We feel these minor dinks and marks only add to its unique character and sense of story. It has only been lightly cleaned rather than highly polished to preserve its history.
